There are several methods people use to remove stretch marks. The method of removal depends on a number of factors such as cost, age, location of the stretch marks and so on. The following are examples of methods that you can use.
Use of chemical peel
Where other methods have failed, chemical peel is one effective method of getting rid of stretch marks. To remove stretch marks, you will need to apply the chemical solution using either a cotton pad or swab, brush or even a sponge. Once applied, this chemical reacts with the skin, causing the outer layer of the skin to start peeling. As a result, the dead skin cells drop off, giving room for new cells to reproduce and replace the dead ones. The success of this method will depend on skin type, concentration of the chemical and how many times the procedure is repeated to achieve the desired results.
Microdermabrasion
This method works almost the same way as the chemical peel method to remove stretch marks. It essentially helps in the removal of the outer layers of the skin. The only distinction between the two is that while chemical peel burns the skin for it to peel, Microdermabrasion uses the spray of crystals to remove the dead skin cells so that there is regeneration of new skin cells. However, this method does not completely help in removing stretch marks.
Blue light treatment
This is a form of light therapy whereby a blue light is used as form of skin therapy. It entails application of a gel that is photosensitive to the skin before exposing it to light. This method is particularly effective if you have new formed stretch marks. Is not however not effective for removing the stretch marks 100%?
If all the non-surgical methods above do not help to remove stretch marks, you should consider surgery.
